I help students succeed through mentoring and ministry

Sometimes academic struggles are as simple as misplaced focus.
Helping students get organized for a clearer picture of the semester.
Knowing what class-load a student can handle and planning accordingly.
Teaching a better way of note-taking to elevate studying strategies.
Discovering effective studying strategies that work for each student.
Balancing all aspects of life as a college student, from academics to work to social.
Grade monitoring by checking for late, missing, incomplete, or low grades.
Preserving the parent/student relationship by holding students accountable for their academic performance.

When I think back to helping my own two children through Texas A&M, I remember the mix of pride, pressure, and prayer it took to get them across the finish line, not just with a degree, but with a sense of purpose. As a parent, educator, and former academic mentor for TAMU Athletics, I’ve seen firsthand how each student walks into college with a different level of readiness. Some hit the ground running. Others need a little more guidance and structure. That’s where I come in. My strengths, classroom management, organization, and planning; aren’t just bullet points on a resume. They’re the tools I’ve used to help students set goals, stay focused, and build real confidence. I believe success comes when students have a plan and someone who believes in them. That’s exactly the kind of mentor I strive to be.
College is about more than classes and grades; it’s a time for students to figure out who they are and where they’re going. That journey can be overwhelming without the right support system. I offer a faith-based approach that balances academics with life. My husband and I are residents of Aggieland with a shared goal, to open our home and hearts to students who might need a safe place to land. I don’t just want to be a mentor. I want to be that steady presence who shows up, believes in them, and reminds them they’re not alone. For many Aggies, we hope to be exactly what we once needed, a home away from home.
